Cooking Rice Noodles to Perfection


Slippery when wet.

Your perfect rice noodles will be slippery when wet — not gummy and gloopy. ♥╭╮♥ Let’s throw your old gummy bowl of noodles in the trash and start fresh. Once you get this down (and it’s easy) you won’t have to worry about ruining your noodles again. Which is great because rice noodles are versatile AF and as you know, affordable whether you’re in school trying to save money or want to spend your money on other things.

Here I’m going to show you how to cook your rice noodles perfectly for cool and room-temp dishes like this fun take on Lemon Salmon.

Let’s get started…


  • Once you take your noodles out of the package, lay them down in a big bowl and cover in cold water.

  • Let them sit in cold water until they are no longer translucent. ~ 2 hrs.

  • You’re now ready to cook them until they are firm — think al dente.

  • Now pour the contents into your colliander (slotted bowl) and immediately rinse with cold water.

    • The cold water removes the thin top layer of starch and prevents it from getting sticky.

  • Drain once more and serve or store!
